1955 Bentley R-type Saloon

As I was looking for yet another Bentley in the Spring of 2002, I wanted one that was identical to the 1954 Bentley, so as to have an interchangeable back-up option. Once I found this 1955 in Chicago, I had every intention to get it repainted in the same colors as the 1954. Then customers interested in renting it saw the pictures and told me not to. So here it is. The previous owner had driven it since 1964 until shortly before her death in the 1990's. When I bought it, the last oil change had been in 1986, 700 miles prior to the purchase. It already came with two added "modern" conveniences - air conditioning and power steering, something the lady must have had added as she aged to facilitate handling and improve comfort. I also added an unobtrusive CD player. Otherwise the car has all the original equipment  exactly how Rolls Royce had shipped it.
